Exam stress is very real and can range from having butterflies to overwhelming fear. It is not only hard for those doing the exam but also for the individual’s family.
There is no doubt that exams can cause real pressure and this can come from schools as well as parents. Children and teens are also very good at piling on the pressure themselves, causing irritability, anxiety, panic and sleep disturbances.
Luckily it is possible to overcome these difficulties and be able to go into exams feeling confident and focused. I recommend a few solution focused sessions, which incorporates some psychotherapy (talking therapy) along with some gentle hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is safe and gentle and with this we can bring down anxiety and negative thought patterns, and help bring up confidence and self-esteem, encouraging focus and control. So when entering the exam room they are best placed to achieve their full potential.
Hypnotherapy is suitable for all exams, whether it be common entrance, GCSEs, A Levels, Degree level exams, or in fact any exam/test environment.
